2 Weeks Old ...

Two weeks old is an awkward age.

The puppies eyes are starting to open along with their ears.

Keep in mind I am not a photographer :)

But two weeks is a mile stone in a puppies life..

Mama's Boy..

 The puppies are all doing really well!

Fluffy rolly polly babies

I waited  for my daughter to come home from school today to do the weigh in.

She doesn't like me to do it with out her.. She is very much in love with snickers..

her favorite puppy changes daily.. Today snickers cuddled right up to her neck,

so she was the winner..

It was a cute coincidence that these babies snuggled up with all of their fuzzy white collars in a row.. I know I have too much time on my hands.. But do you blame me? These babies are SO cute..

 

The puppies are only 9 days old.. Their ears and eyes are still closed so they depend solely on their sense of smell to get around. I think they can hear a little at this point but they smell to find their mommy. In this clip Twix is turned away from his litter mates so he thinks he is alone and is barking for his mama.. I love their barks.. Nothing cuter than a puppy bark..

Snuggle Time..

We are very protective of our pups.. But we LOVE to have visitors come and meet them. Exposing them to any stimulation is good for them.. it helps socialize the puppies.

And the neighbors kinda like it too :)



1 very long WEEK old..

The first two weeks really drag for me..

It seems like a month by the time we hit their two week birthday.

 These cute puppies have graduated from Hamster to Potato size :)

This week PIPER gets the most photogenic award.. She is just a really cuddly pup..

Even though it feels like a month, I've enjoyed every minute of it..

It seems like once their eyes open the time just flies. They are all doing so well!!

The first two-weeks of a puppy's life is stressful. They can't be too hot and they definitely cant get too cold. Luckily Shelby is an excellent mommy. We weigh the puppies every morning to keep a careful watch on their weight gain. The first sign that something might be wrong is weight loss. Now it may only mean that puppy isn't as aggressive as the others and we make sure that puppy latches and eats regularly.. I think the first two weeks are as stressful on me as they are on these cuties!!  

Snug as a Bug..

Taking pictures of these fur babies while they are still hamster size is SO much easier than the 6 weeks get into everything age.. Our little munchkins are
4 days old today and doing well! 

 

I took some individual pictures this morning so you can see their markings better.. They are too little to know what their personality will be like, but all of Shelby X Max's puppies have been well rounded and have done really well in their new homes.

She has a thin but full collar, 4 white socks and a white tipped tail.

Typically I do not collect deposits on puppies until they are two weeks old. WELCOME.. little ones..FINALLY!!

 I have confined myself to my home for the past week waiting for these 3 boys and 3 girls to come.. Granted, I miscalculated Shelby's due date by one week.. (Thanks to technology, lol). I left to run to get groceries this morning and came home to six puppies! I missed the whole thing.. Luckily, everything went well and Mommy and babies are doing fantastic!!

Proud mama won't let us snuggle her puppies for very long..

She tries to take them out of our hands and puts them back.. She is such a good mommy!

What? I'm suppose to be having puppies?

Still.... no puppies..

Shelby was officially due Sunday the fourth.. However, she isn't 'overdue' until this weekend. It has been so stressful waiting!! She is huge and slow.. But still wanted to play Frisbee.. We are set up and ready for these babies if they would just come already!!
